RIVER & POST PHOTO TOUR

You may have already seen some of these images before on our Instagram. Maybe you’ve met co-workers after work on the rooftop and seen the restaurant for yourself but we wanted to walk you through the space and explain our design process!

River & Post brings a trendy environment with an atmosphere like no other. It offers breathtaking river city views and a unique design to the exciting area of Riverside in Jacksonville. We are so proud to have been apart of this project and we are on the hunt to design another restaurant.

The style throughout the restaurant is very cozy, with warm wood tones and plenty of natural lighting. We were able to have fun with the tile accents within the space. Your first view after leaving the hostess stand allows you to look down through the extent of the main dining area. It is lively, inviting and always full of people on the weekends.

When it comes to restaurants, everyone loves a booth seat dining option. Whether its’ because you are trying to have an intimate dinner out or you are with elderly friends that have trouble hearing. We designed these alcoves to be spacious and comfortable. The booth is accented by a faux brick tile wall and an adorable coastal pendant.

When we were going over the design intent with our clients’ at one of our initial meetings they informed us that they wanted to be well known for their craft cocktail menu. We knew we had to make a statement with the bar to compliment the hard work of the energetic bartenders. We were able to have fun with this bright blue fish scale tile and custom casework behind the work.

LEAD DESIGNER’S FAVORITE DETAIL:

My favorite design detail is the bar design on the first level.  I was able to design custom pipe shelving behind and over the bar for liquor and glass storage.  I love how the custom fish scale tile came out in front of the bar for the blue glaze is a nice juxtaposition with rustic reclaimed wood throughout the space.

For parties and events we incorporated this back dining room into the space. When it is not in use, the restaurant has the option to close it off with these bi-folding doors and the room instantly becomes a private dining room for a larger group of people.

Making your way up to the 9th floor you are greeted by the Rooftop Bar, which faces the St. Johns River giving you a stunning panoramic view. But it doesn’t stop here…

PROJECT CHALLENGE:

The single most challenging element; the 9th level fire tables. We did not think we were going to be able to include them but we were able to hard pipe the gas to the tables to ensure the safety of the occupants within the building.

You can relax outside on the rooftop and have a cocktail while the sun sets on a beautiful night or even while its raining because the outdoor deck is well equipped with a retractable roof. The design intent for the rooftop was to be more of a lounge than a dining space. There are plenty of outdoor sofas for large parties or even small parties that don’t mind sharing a lounge area.
