Hi friends! I’d like to introduce you to the founder of Micamy Design Studio. Michele Brown has been working in the Interior Design industry for almost 30 years! Keep reading along to learn more about Michele.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Coffee first! Getting to work is usually answering emails and address any questions from the staff to keep us all moving our projects forward. I actually like to draw and design so I like to get as much AutoCAD work done myself for I love diving into the details for I think that makes a project stand out.
What’s your favorite piece of furniture you’ve ever owned?
I have two! One is my Nana’s 1964 Magnavox console stereo that still works and I remember playing with it as a kid. Second is my Pottery Barn Chesterfield bed for I love how I can change out the bedding easily. See some of my favorite pieces below!
Favorite restaurant in Jacksonville?
River & Post for it is the first restaurant I was able to design without many changes and their hamburger is the best!
Favorite Holiday and why?
I’m obsessed with Christmas!!! I have 2 trees (so far) that I love to decorate. One room is white & silver which has a more modern vibe and the front sitting room is red & green that is totally traditional. Of course my presents have to match each room too with bows I create from scratch.
Favorite aspect of the Interior Design business?
Being creative! Every project is different so it never gets old!
What was the last show you binged watched?
Outlander! Poor Roger!!
What are some accomplishments that you are really proud of?
My kids, Jade and JR. They are such great kids and are turning out to be amazing adults that I love being around.
What fad did you never really understand?
Carpet in bathrooms! Gross!
