MEET KAITLIN
Hi friends! I’d like to introduce to the newest member of our design team, Kaitlin. She graduated from West Virginia University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. She is driven on how each project is unique in their own way. Every design comes with their own challenges which keeps the job exciting and timeless. She is currently studying to gain her NCIDQ qualification.
Her experience includes an undergraduate internship with Micamy as well as opportunities in other aspects of the design field. Currently, her responsibilities include assisting on construction drawings, finish selections, FF&E proposals, and whatever else needs a helping hand.
What does a typical day look like for you?
My days start out with taking care of my dog, Gunnar. When I get to work, I make my cup of coffee, catch up on the schedule for the day, and check any unanswered emails. Then I jump into whatever my workload that day consists of!
What’s your favorite piece of furniture you’ve ever owned?
My family had an old jukebox that was passed down from my grandparents. I always loved the character it brought to a room.
Favorite restaurant in Jacksonville?
Flying Iguana. Mexican is my favorite!
Favorite Holiday and why?
Christmas! That is the only holiday my family has traditions for which makes it a little more special than all of the others.
Favorite aspect of the Interior Design business?
I like that no two projects are the same. It keeps the job exciting and your mind creative.
What was the last show you binged watched?
Season 2 of You on Netflix. I will embarrassingly admit that I watched it in about 24 hours.
What are some accomplishments that you are really proud of?
My most recent accomplishment is to have passed the first part of my NCIDQ exam. It feels good to start taking the small steps that lead up to a dream goal. Another accomplishment of mine was making the dance team at West Virginia University. I grew up dancing so being able to continue that during my college career is something I am extremely thankful for.
What fad did you never really understand?
Crocs!! I can’t stand them.
